Conservation:
Conservation in general comprises structural repairs to ensure stability of the structures, restoration of architectural features, strengthening of foundations, routine maintenance of the fabric of the Historic buildings and monuments. This work is handled by the Conservation Branch of the Archaeological Survey of India.
Environmental Development:
This involves the maintenance and development of the environs of the monuments. It consists of maintenance of Historical gardens around the monuments and sites, restoration of their lost features and gardening and landscaping activities. This work is done by the Horticulture Branch of the Archaeological Survey of India
