Chemical Preservation

It comprises the maintenance of the fabric of Historic structures in existing state involving chemical cleaning of the monuments, paintings, art objects etc. and application of suitable preservatives on the cleaned and repaired surfaces.  This work is dealt with by the Science Branch of the Archaeological Survey of India.
