Q. Where is the Central Archaeological Library located, and what is the best way to get there?
Ans. The Central Archaeological Library is located in B-1, Dharohar Bhawan, 24 Tilak Marg, New Delhi-110001. For additional information, see www.asi.nic.in (CAL).
Q. What are the Library’s visitor hours?
Ans. The Central Archaeological Library opens to visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. The library is closed on Saturday & Sundays and Gazetted Holidays.
What is the security entry process?
Ans. All visitors entering the Central Archaeological Library, Dharohar Bhawan building must go through Security Check along with identity proof at the entrance of Central Archaeological Library. Visitors should limit the amount of personal property they bring to the Library. Certain prohibited items like weapons, knives explosive are not allowed into the buildings.
Q. Are there long waits to enter the Library?
Ans. Visitors to the Library, rarely have to wait in line on the entry gate of Dharohar Bhawan and Central Archaeological Library Building.
Q. Do I need tickets or reservations?
Ans. The Central Archaeological Library is free and open to the public. Visitors do not need tickets or reservations to enter or to visit the Library.

Ans. Photography is restricted in Central Archaeological Library.
Q. Is there a cloakroom?
Ans. The visitors’ can deposit their bag at the Property Counter at their own risk. The counter is available at the entrance of the of Central Archaeological Library and is open from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (Monday to Friday)

Ans. Central Archaeological Library has Close Access Service (CAS).

Ans.The Library does not have Cafeteria and Canteen facility.

Ans. Central Archaeological Library is allowed for General Public for consultation but they are required to show original photo identity card for entry in Library.
